WORK WITH US
Inspiring change and building equitable learning communities
At the Center for Love & Justice, we believe in co-creating learning spaces that are rooted in love, justice, and collective liberation. Our work is grounded in the voices of students, teachers, and communities, prioritizing deeper learning and critical consciousness to drive equitable transformation.
Change the Way We Do School
We believe real change happens when schools and communities work together over time. Our long-term partnerships focus on dismantling inequities and building systems rooted in liberation. Informed by the principles of Liberatory Project Based Learning, we partner with educators to create systems and structures that foster equity, belonging, and sustainable change. Together, we reimagine education to create schools where all students can thrive.
New School Creation
We partner with visionary educators and communities to bring bold ideas to life through schools that center equity, liberation, and deeper learning. Guided by the belief that education is a powerful force for equity and justice, we’ve worked with more than 200 school founders to design nearly 50 schools. Through a dynamic and personalized New School Creation process, we co-create systems that place the needs of young people at the forefront, fostering belonging, amplifying student voice, and driving transformative change.
Leading for Deeper Learning
Transforming schools begins with strong leadership and collaborative learning. Our institutes guide school leaders through engaging workshops, reflective dialogue, and actionable planning. Leaders develop strategies to strengthen adult learning cultures, design deeper learning experiences, and build the capacity to drive meaningful change in their schools.
Customized Professional Development
Every school and community is unique, which is why we tailor professional development experiences to meet your specific needs. From immersive workshops to leadership coaching, we design opportunities that align with your liberatory goals, cultivate deeper learning, and empower educators to create lasting change.

The Equity Stances of Liberatory Learning create a way to identify, critique, and challenge the forces that produce inequity, and reflect on ways to take constructive action These stances guide our work in creating equitable, just, and transformative learning environments:
- Democratization: Sharing power between students and educators.
- Place: Rooting learning in the local community and its context.
- Dialogue: Encouraging meaningful conversations about critical issues.
- Belonging: Ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and included.
- Identity: Honoring and affirming the diverse identities of all students.
- Liberation: Dismantling oppressive structures and fostering freedom in education, where students and educators co-create spaces of radical love and justice that empower collective liberation.
Our student-facing levers empower students to take ownership of their learning and engage meaningfully with their school community
- LEARNING THROUGH PROJECTS: Students develop deeper learning competencies through project-based learning, and cultivate a sense of belonging, identity, and place while learning the language of liberation and oppression.
- MAKING LEARNING PUBLIC: Students exhibit, present, and reflect on their learning, and student work is curated throughout the physical space of the school.
- ACTIVATING STUDENT VOICE: Students develop democratic behaviors and dispositions through opportunities to co-design projects in the classroom and exercise shared-decision making across the school.
