Brittany Perro is a Massachusetts native who began her teaching career in 2011. After starting as a middle school special education math and language arts teacher through Teach For America in San Antonio, TX, she continued as an art teacher at Brooke Charter School in East Boston, MA. Upon moving to San Diego in 2018, she joined the teaching staff at High Tech Middle North County in San Marcos, CA and fell in love with the school, its community, and its students. Brittany is in her sixth year of teaching 8th grade humanities, and loves creating a brave, inclusive, and empathetic learning community that celebrates a love for reading, writing, and thinking critically about the world. On campus, she simultaneously fulfills the roles of testing coordinator, new teacher mentor, and theater director. In 2021, she received her Master’s Degree in Education Leadership with High Tech High’s Graduate School of Education, where she dedicated her capstone work to improving teacher efficacy to improve academic growth of English Language Learners. When she is not doing yoga or singing karaoke, you can also find Brittany supporting new teachers in the HTH Induction Program, and acting as an Improvement Coach for the HTH Capstone Course. She is thrilled to join the High Tech High Graduate School of Education to teach the School Law class, which made an unforgettable impact on her while she was a graduate student herself.
