Eduardo Lomba

Eduardo Lomba, father of four boys and an enthusiast of mountaineering, camping, science, astronomy, reading, and music, has integrated these passions into the educational work he and his wife have pursued since their youth. He served as a school administrator in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, for 13 years. His conviction regarding the need to transform and improve the traditional school model led him to pursue a PhD, through which he conducted a global mapping and analysis of the schools most frequently referenced in scientific research on school innovation within the field of Educational Sciences. For the past eight years, he has dedicated himself to building a systemic transformation project for the Portuguese education system. His doctoral research led him to establish contact with High Tech High—at the time, the most frequently cited innovative school in scientific publications worldwide—and to propose a partnership with HTH GSE to the Oeiras municipal executive for the implementation of this systemic vision. He is also co-founder and co-coordinator of RIMED (https://www.fmleao.pt/rimed-en/), a network for innovation and improvement of education, a platform for collaboration among individuals (teachers, researchers, school leaders, cultural mediators, among others) and institutions (schools, local authorities, education associations, etc.), dedicated to debate, sharing, study, action research, and the co-creation of innovation projects and educational improvement.
