Academic Program Manager

Michelle joined the High Tech High community in 2013 as an Academic Coach at HTMMA. After leaving to attend graduate school at Columbia Teachers College, Michelle returned to San Diego and was part of the founding faculty, teaching 4th grade at High Tech Elementary in Point Loma for nine years. She is also an alumna of the High Tech High Educational Leadership Program. Michelle is currently Academic Program Manager for the High Tech High San Diego Teacher Residency Program.

Michelle is passionate about education as a pathway for transformation and liberation. Many of the projects she designed as an elementary teacher centered around the multicultural history of the United States, with a goal of getting students out of the classroom to show them the importance of their work in the world beyond the school building.

When she is not at school, Michelle enjoys traveling, reading, swimming in the ocean, camping, doing word puzzles, and relaxing with her two cats.
