Jenny Bourassa is an science educator, curriculum designer, teacher coach and mentor. She enjoys working with teachers at all stages of their educational journey and believes that building relationships is the key to transformative educational experiences. She has taught math and science at High Tech High Chula Vista and privately to students abroad. She has worked as a science instructional coach, helping both new and veteran teachers expand their practice to push student thinking and create more equitable learning spaces. She has worked to design inquiry driven and culturally relevant curriculum in partnership with Ignited Education and organizations such as FutureLab+ and SEMI Corporation.
Prior to her years with the HTH Organization, she was the Director of Catalina Island Marine Institute at Cherry Cove. She developed curriculum and constructed classroom spaces to enhance student learning and spark a love of the natural world. Additionally, Jenny dedicates much of her time to volunteering for local non-profit organizations committed to the safety, equity, and well being of students. She works to bring STEAM educational opportunities to underserved and underrepresented communities, recognizing that access to opportunity is essential.
Jenny is a graduate of the University of Miami, Florida where she majored in Biology and Secondary Education and minored in Marine Science. When she isn’t working with students and teachers, she can be found listening to an audio book, in the ocean or out in nature with her two boys.
