Julia Jacobsen is an Improvement Specialist at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. As a member of the Improvement for Equity by Design (IExD) team, she develops the capacity of organizations to build equitable systems and practices. She also works as an Instructional Coach at High Tech Middle North County supporting equitable project design and facilitation.

Julia holds two masters degrees in Technology, Innovation and Education from Harvard and Educational Leadership from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. She was an Engineering Scholar in Residence at High Tech Elementary, where she researched equitable engineering instruction. As an elementary educator for 10 years, she sought to design projects that engaged students in big questions around their identity and their world. Julia’s work is grounded in the belief that students are already brilliant and powerful. She strives to create spaces and systems that honor the brilliance that students bring.
