“Demography is not Destiny”

Kevin Bryant is a thinker, dreamer and doer who advocates for an equitable future for our most marginalized populations. For 15 years, the New York City Department of Education was integral to Kevin’s formation as an educator and leader. Kevin has used his role as an urban school leader to ensure that zip code or ethnic background is not an indicator of academic success, specifically amongst marginalized groups. Throughout his time in the NYCDOE, he served in many leadership capacities, such as working with formally disengaged you as an Assistant Principal of GED and most notably as a Turnaround and Master Principal. As Master Principal, Kevin managed two schools simultaneously. In two years, he turned around a persistently underperforming high school to “Good Standing” while ensuring continued progress at another turnaround school where he previously increased graduation by over 30%.

Kevin continues to work with school and district leaders nationwide to ensure equitable resources, supports, and outcomes for all students. Kevin currently partners with school districts and organizations utilizing a context-driven approach toward leadership coaching, team development, and organization strategy to provide support to solve critical issues impacting millions of lives.

Kevin holds a doctorate in Education Leadership from Harvard University and a Masters of Education Leadership from Columbia University
