David Roney is the Instructional Coach and Internship Coordinator at High Tech High Mesa. He taught high school Humanities for 8 years across diverse school settings in Nashville, TN and San Diego, CA. Nothing lights David up more than collaborating to design authentic learning experiences such as the Behind the Scenery project and the Branches of Our Past project. In addition to his years working directly with students, David designs and facilitates a variety of adult learning opportunities from supporting student teachers and hosting workshops to instructing the GSE Social Studies Methods course and co-leading High Tech High’s Instructional Coaches Community of Practice.
At the center of this work are two beliefs. First, transformational learning must have real value outside of the walls of the school building. Second, every person has a right to grow and develop in an environment in which they are seen and valued.
