We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Babbick, 11th grade Humanities educator at HTH Mesa to share the evolution of the legacy project, Project Runway. This is an interdisciplinary exploration of the significance fashion plays in social movements and cultural identities. In Spanish and Humanities class, students explored the ways fashion subverts or reinforces socio-political and cultural norms. Ultimately, students constructed a comparison research paper and created a fashion show that highlighted unique student-made designs that elevated their understanding of social movements. Students worked with local fashion designers and programs to elevate their designs and showcase their learning.
Project Unpackings are an in-depth exploration of structures used to design for deeper learning. Each session is facilitated by a HTH educator and focuses on one or more of the PBL Essentials: Design for Deeper Learning Kaleidoscope. This is an interactive workshop in which participants are asked to design, discuss, and reflect. Project Unpackings welcome new and experienced educators.
At GSE, we believe every event is an opportunity to build connections and foster learning. Meet the team working to make that happen for you.
