Engage in active, hands-on workshops to uncover complex educational challenges
PBL Design Camp
Join PBL Design Camp, an event that brings educators together to collaborate, share ideas and create new projects for students. In this two-week workshop, learn design strategies to build empathy for students and communities and generate ideas for transformative learning experiences. With HTH teachers and students, receive peer feedback and build a project prototype. The workshop includes six interactive sessions and reflective activities, culminating in a unique PBL project plan.

Curated Visits
The HTH community welcomes visitors back to campus! HTH Professional Learning Designer curates full day visits throughout the school year at our various K-12 campuses in San Diego County. These in-person experiences are an immersive exploration of one HTH K-12 campus, project-based learning model, and the student experience. These typically are full day experiences that include a HTH 101 presentation, student-led tour of a school, classroom observations and catered lunch discussions with teachers and/or school leaders.
Virtual Tours
Reserve your space for a FREE online interactive presentation on Project-Based Learning model at HTH. Online visitors will be listening and asking questions to HTH Graduate School of Education faculty to learn more about the history of our schools and its implementation of the PBL model. In addition, a student panel of HTH Student Ambassadors will share their experiences at a PBL school. This interactive online experience will culminate with a Q&A session to learn more about HTH K-12 schools and HTH GSE’s PBL-focused professional development for all educators. Join us every first business day of the month.

Project Unpacking
Project Unpackings provide an in-depth exploration of project design. Facilitators will share the story of a past project and will pause for moments of reflection and deeper dives into essential components of project design. Each unpacking will introduce the following essential components of project design but will focus deeply on two: inspiration, essential questions, ideation, draft/revision, critique, reflection, assessment, exhibition, community partners, and student leadership. There will be pauses for reflection, connection, and collaboration to practice envisioning project components. Project Unpackings welcomes educators new to PBL and experienced PBL designers.
PBL Leadership Academy
The PBL Leadership Academy is a year-long professional development program that supports diverse teams of California public educators committed to growing project-based learning in their schools, particularly for traditionally marginalized students. These educators are working to address equity gaps in learning, engage each learner authentically, and do so safely and effectively. The program encourages teams to create personalized leadership projects that address authentic needs in their school communities.
